2023 RBC Business Person and Start-up of the Year Award nominations

Each year, the Riviera Business Club awards excellence with the Business Person of the Year and Start-up of the Year awards. Nominate a small business that deserves some attention!

One of the largest international business clubs in the French Riviera, the RBC has been a home for business networking and educational workshops for several years. It is a not-for-profit business association based in the heart of the Riviera, between Cannes, Nice, Antibes, and Sophia Antipolis and offers a cordial environment for business owners of all nationalities to gather and connect in an English-speaking setting. What sets the RBC apart from other business groups is its longtime affiliation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Nice Côte d'Azur.

Each year, the Business Person of the Year (BYOP) and Startup of the Year Award are granted to the candidate with the strongest business model, service or other outstanding factor. Nominees are chosen from open nominations and are then reviewed by an independent panel of judges (author included) who work closely with a representative from the CCI. Nominees present a presentation explaining their business and answer a series of questions from the panel. The winners are then announced during a gala dinner award ceremony.

Judging criteria:

  • Strategic Vision and Planning

  • Innovation

  • Leadership

  • Customer Centricity

  • Sustainability

If you know someone you find particularly deserving of such an award, or you would like to support a new business you love, click the button below to nominate them on the RBC’s website. The nominations are anonymous, but you can tell them you’ve put them forward for the award. Would you like your own business considered for the shortlist? Self-nominations aren't eligible, but you can advertise the award on your own channels so your top customers can nominate you.

The RBC awards not only increase the business’ visibility but also, through rigorous meetings with the jury, help the business owner structure and prepare for added growth.

Nominations opened on 28 August and close in October, so make sure to nominate your favourite businesses before the deadline! You do not have to be a member to nominate, nor does the business of your choosing. You can nominate more than one business, but check the eligibility below to make sure the business qualifies:
