Mother's Day, called La Fête des Mères here in France, comes once a year, but being a mum is a 24/7 job. So, on this day, why not treat her to a fabulous brunch at one of our stunningly beautiful hotels? The Côte d'Azur is lucky to have some of the world’s best hotels and their special Mother’s Day brunch is absolutely worth the splurge!


This year, Mother’s day falls on 29 May, later than many other countries, so if mum only got a toaster this year, here’s your chance to make it up to her.

1. La Plage du Martinez, Hotel Martinez (Cannes)

The most indulgent is the Hotel Martinez Family Brunch. For Mother’s Day they are upping the glamour with a special fashion show of the collection of Fabian Filippi. Under the direction of Michelin-starred chef Christian Sinicropi, guests will be treated to an unlimited buffet, and for the little ones, their own dedicated buffet. Not an endive or Brussel sprout in sight!


What's on the menu? A market-fresh buffet including salad bar, rotisserie and grill, cheese and charcuterie platters, a special live-cooking risotto in a Parmesan wheel, and a selection of delectable desserts, of course.


Price: €129 for adults, which includes the unlimited buffet, a coupe of Champagne, all non-alcoholic drinks and a hot drink. For kids 6-12 years, it’s €64.50 and includes a non-alcoholic drink and access to the kid’s club with entertainment.

2. The Grand-Hôtel du Cap Ferrat, a Four Seasons Hotel (Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat)

The Grand-Hôtel du Cap Ferrat is elegance at it’s finest. The stately palace is set back amongst lush gardens and the dining room is lined with floor to ceiling windows looking out over it all. They specialise in Mother’s Day Brunch and really know how to pamper mum on her special day, including giving a little going-away gift at the end of the extravagant meal.


What’s on the menu? Find a classic full hotel brunch of days gone by, with several different food stations from salads to cheeses, including oyster and caviar bars, a selection of local dishes, roast carving of Roya Valley lamb, and so much more. Don’t miss their signature heart-shaped raspberry pie, one of several delicious desserts to choose from.

3. Royal Riviera (Beaulieu-sur-Mer)

Nestled between Beaulieu-sur-Mer and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat is the Royal Riviera ("Royal Riv" to locals). The hotel's Jasmin Grill is hosting a special Mother's Day brunch full of local flavours, including their famous oyster platter.


What's on the menu? Quiche printanière, a carpaccio of tuna, mango and coriander, and a spring salad of asparagus, confit tomatoes and feta... The Jasmin Grill has something for everyone on the menu.


Price: This Mother's Day brunch special is €60 per person.

4. Hotel Belles Rives (Juan-Les-Pins)

The famous Hotel Belles Rives was once home to American author F. Scott Fitzgerald. An Art Deco dream on the shores of Juan-Les-Pins, their Michelin-starred restaurant Les Passagères will play host to a buffet salé (savoury buffet).


What's on the menu? A coupe of champagne and a selection of patisseries in addition to the savoury buffet.


Price: €115 per person and €80 for kids under 12. Reservations required.

5. La Mas de Pierre (Saint-Paul-de-Vence)



The Domaine de la Mas de Pierre is a glorious five-star luxurious resort à deux pas from Saint-Paul-de-Vence village. Their Provençale bistro, Lis Orto, is inspired by cross-generational southern French cuisine, with ingredients sourced locally. While not serving a brunch buffet, the chef has prepared a special Mother's Day lunch à l'ardoise.


What's on the menu? A three-course Mother's Day lunch menu with special attention paid to mums with a mini lemon cake for dessert.

6. La Coquillade (Gargas, Provence)

Though not technically on the French Riviera, La Coquillade in Gargas, Provence, is a romantic, five-star Provençale bastide. Restaurant La Vigne is their garden to table concept restaurant enjoying panoramic views of the Luberon. Their award-winning chefs shine a spotlight on vegetables, fruits and flowers, and all manner of creative concoctions.


What's on the menu? A champagne buffet with fresh oysters


Price: €120 per person including champagne, mineral water and hot drinks; €60 per child.
